Hey everyone, it's Evangeline right here at etrailer and today I have the Yakima ShowDown Kayak and Standup Paddleboard Carrier with Lift Assist. We'll take a look at how it fits our 2023 Kia Seltos. The Yakima ShowDown is going to be a lift assist kayak carrier, which means that it makes it easier for you to get the kayak up and onto your roof. The way this does that is that it has a track where it slides out and then it pivots down so that you load your kayak down here instead of lifting it up and over onto your roof, which is awesome. But there are some downsides and the main downside is that you need to make sure you have the right roof rack. So I know that Kia Seltos has some different options for trims. more

And today, I have the Lockrack Universal X kayak carrier or canoe carrier or 2-standup paddleboard carrier, and we'll take a look at how it fits my 2023 Kia Seltos. If you're looking to carry around a kayak on your Seltos, what you first need is a roof rack and then a kayak carrier. Now, the Lockrack Universal X is gonna be a very versatile, but also, easy to use carrier, because instead of having to strap down the center of your kayak with those load straps, you can use the arms of your Lockrack instead. This creates a very easy to use mounting system as well as versatility for kayaks of different widths and sizes. The way this works is it has this arm that has a rubberized material on it, and that's on the arm as well as on the base. more

This is gonna be a lightweight and easy-to-use kayak carrier, and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2023 Kia Seltos. So this is a J-style kayak carrier which means that your kayak is sitting on its side, and that also means that it takes up less space on your roof rack. So if you wanted to carry around maybe more kayaks or other accessories on your roof rack like a roof box or roof basket, even though your Seltos' roof width isn't that much compared to other vehicles, with J-style kayak carrier, you can do so. Now, focusing on how this fits on our Seltos, though, let's talk about things like how we have it strapped down, how much space it takes up, and how easy is it to load your kayak up on here. I have 49-inch long crossbars here on the Seltos, and notice that we do have it towards the inside of our crossbar. more

Kuat Class 4 V2 Kayak Carrier Review - 2022 Kia Forte- Video

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Kuat Class 4 C2 Kayak Carrier and how it fits on the 2022 Kia Forte. This is one of my favorite kayak carriers. It's definitely a premium one with a bunch of premium features that just makes it easier for you to carry around your kayaks, and you have integrated locks. Now we do have 'em on the SeaSucker round bars, and pretty much no matter what kayak carrier you have, there will be a little bit of rotation on round bars, but this one has it down to a minimum. So this has a bunch of integrated locks, but you aren't able to lock the kayak to the carrier. That's something to keep in mind. more

Kuat Class 4 V2 Kayak Carrier Review - 2015 Kia Sorento- Video

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we'll be taking a look at our Kuat Class 4 V2 Kayak Carrier on our 2015 Kia Sorento. What we have here is gray, we can also get it in black. With its raised rails and good roof size, the Kia Sorento was a great option as the vehicle to carry our kayaks to the water. Now, we brought out a bunch of different kayak carriers onto the Sorento, and the Kuat Class 4 V2 Kayak Carrier is probably one of my favorites for the mid-range price point, that's because there's a lot of fun features there, making it easier for you to strap down your kayak, but also creating a nice, stable surface, so we'll talk about that, but we're gonna focus on our vehicle, so you can see how it works with it. So the way this mounts to your vehicle is you need to have crossbars and a roof rack system, if you don't already have one for your Sorento, get one, you can find it here on our fit guide at etrailer.com. Now, this will fit most of your crossbars and roof rack systems, because it has straps and clamps, but it also has a T-track kit included with your carrier. more

And the main thing about the Malone DownLoader is I liked how for a premium, uh, entry-level kayak carrier, it has some cool features like making it easier for you to strap down the kayak, having this load assist ramp. The downside to it was I did not like the straps that we're included. more

What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be checking out The Rhino Rack, j-style kayak carrier kit, with extension arm, which means you're going to be able to hold two kayaks on here now, on our 2017 Kia Forte 5. The nice thing about this being a kit is that if you already have the kayak carrier, the j-style one, you can just get the arms and add it to it, and it'll work together. If you need everything, you can buy the kit and you'll get both of them included. Now one of the reasons this kit is so great, as you can see, on this smaller vehicle with the smaller bars, both of those kayaks fit right next to each other. Normally, if you had two different j-style kayak carriers on there, they'd have to be spread out a little bit more because they're going to lean in and that's going to take up most of, if not all, of the space on your bars. more

So this is a good kayak carrier if you are interested in sideloading your kayak, as well as having it lying down onto your bars. So compared to J-Style kayak carriers which have it on its side, this one has it on the crossbars themselves or a little bit up. So you do take up more of your crossbar space, but it's also kind of safer for your height that way. more

Hi, everyone, Aiden with etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima J-Lo J style kayak carrier on our 2017 Kia Forte Five. That was going to be a J style carrier. That's going to make really good contact on the kayak and keep it nice and sturdy at the top of your vehicle. Now, this kit's going to come with all the different pieces you need, like your strap kit. You've got these cam buckle straps here in the middle and that's pretty standard for most kayak carriers but what's going to set this one apart is the way it kind of protects your boat here. Now it's not super uncommon to have maybe a piece of fabric on the backside of the cam buckle there but this one is fully surrounded in this nice thick, rubber piece. more

Thule Watersport Carriers Review - 2008 Kia Sportage- Video

Today on our 2008 Kia Sportage we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Hull-a-Port J-Style Kayak Carrier, part number TH834. To install our carrier, we'll just undue these thumbs screws here on the bottom. I'm going to leave this one on. The plate has one side of it that's solid all around and then the other one has a little split in it so that you can take it off and just swing it around and then connect it, so we'll leave our thumb screws on and just swing that plate underneath our roof rail and around that post there, and then we'll just tighten that up. You want to get that pretty even on either side, so you can alternate or turn those at the same time. The nice thing about this rack is that it's a really quick installation. No tools required. more

Thule Watersport Carriers Review - 2008 Kia Sportage TH811XT- Video

Today on our 2008 Kia Sportage, we're going to be test-fitting the Thule Shuttle Stand Up Paddleboard carrier, part number TH811XT. A few things I want to point out before we get started, we have the flip-fit bracket on this carrier, and what this does is basically you can adjust it to fit better your roof rack system. So for this bar, since it's a little thicker, we're going to turn it so that it's in a sort of "U" position, or a smile, whatever you want to think of it as. And that just gives us a little bit more room for our bar to fit. If we had square or round bars, you could flip it this way. Or maybe if they we're thinner factory bars, this way would be what would fit our bar better. Another thing is, this is adjustable. So we can push it out to go over the entire length of our bar. And then once we have it in place, can flip that flip-fit bracket around so we have it the right way for our bar. more

SportRack Post-Style Roof Mount Kayak Carrier Review - 2008 Kia Sportage- Video

Today, on our 2008 Kia Sportage, we're going to be taking a look at the SportRack Kayak Carrier. Part number SR5323. This mounts to your roof rack up top, and, as you can see, it does fold down so when you're not using it you don't have to worry about it sticking up straight in the air. Now we'll mount our front part of our kayak carrier, so you'll have a U-bolt and a plastic plate. There'll be 2 for each of your carriers, 1 for the front and 1 for the back. I'm just going to loosely put that up there for now. I found that this was the easier way for me to put these up there, but it's pretty simple. more

Thule SUP Taxi Stand-Up Paddleboard Carrier Review - 2014 Kia Soul- Video

Today on our 2014 Kia Soul. We're going to be test fitting the Thule SUP Taxi. A stand up paddle board carrier with a two board capacity, part number TH810. With our Thule Rapid Reverse Roof rack system already installed on our Soul. We're going to begin our test fit by grabbing the front half of our carrier, and placing it on to our front load bar. We would want the gray levers pointing towards the passenger side, we'll then bring our black rubber coated metal straps around the under side of our load bar and fit it back into the foot of the carrier. We'll then turn the gray from dial, to secure it on to our rack. more

Today on our 2014 Kia Cadenza we'll be testing the Thule Sup Taxi with a two-board capacity, part no. TH810. With the Thule rackage 00:10 reverse refract system on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the front part of the carrier onto our front bar. We'll then go ahead and bring the rubber coated steel straps around the underside of the steel bar and hook them into the connection points. We'll then go ahead and turn the gray knots to tighten down the straps, to secure the front part of the carrier to our front bar. Then we'll go ahead and repeat the same process for the rear part of the carrier. Now, with both pieces secured, we're ready to load up our paddle board. more

Today on our 2013 Kia Optima, we'll be test fitting the Thule SUP Taxi Stand-Up Paddleboard Carrier with a two board capacity, part number TH810. With the Thule Rapid Traverseroof rack system assembled ontoour vehicle,we'll take half of our carrier and place it onto our front bar. We'll bring the rubber-coated strap around our front bar, fitit back into the foot of the carrier and use the little hand knob to tighten it around the bar. We can then repeat this process for the other side. We'll grab the other half of our carrier and place it onto our rear bar. We'll want to make sure that the rear half is in line with the front half. more

Once the carrier is secured we're ready to load up our paddleboard. We'll start off by pushing out on the gray plate and pulling out on the gray plate with the Thule logo to release the strap. more

Thule The Stacker Rooftop Kayak Carrier Review - 2013 Kia Soul- Video

Today on our 2013 Kia Soul, we'll be test-fitting the Thule Stacker Roof Mount and Multi-Kayak Carrier, Part number TH830.We'll begin our test-fit by first placing the Stacker onto the front load bar. We'll insert the bolts through the top of the top bracket of the Stacker. We'll then use the bracket to come underneath the front load bar, inserting the bolts through the holes of the bracket. We'll then use the black wing nuts to tighten it down to secure the Stacker to the load bar. Once we have the first stacker all tightened down and secured to the front load bar, we can repeat the same steps for the rear stacker.Once both pieces are secured and tightened down to the load bars, we're ready to load up our kayak. We'll first simply take our Thule straps to thread them through the top of the Stacker. more

Today on our 2012 Kia Soul well be test fitting the Thule SUP Taxi standup paddleboard carrier, part number TH810. Well then set the paddle carrier onto the back load bar, wrap the strap around the load bar and secure it with the grey knob. Now to begin, we'll simply take our front carrier, place it on top of our front crossbar, bring the rubber coated steel straps underneath the crossbar and secure them back to the foot of the carrier. We can then turn the grey knob, securing the front carrier to the front crossbar. With that done, we'll now move on to our rear carrier. We'll now place it on top of the rear crossbar and make sure that it's in line with our front carrier. more

Today on our 2007 Kia Sportage, well be test-fitting part number TH810. This is the Thule SUP Taxi Stand-Up Paddleboard Carrier. Now, to begin our test fit, well simply place the front carrier over the top of the front crossbar. After determining a suitable location on the crossbar, well use the rubber coated steel strap to go underneath the crossbar and secure it back to the foot of the SUP carrier. Well then use the gray knob on the foot to tying down the carrier strap and secure it to the front crossbar. Well do these on both feet of the front carrier. more
